Hello! It was my father who took this photo! While I was living in San Miguel at the time this photo was taken, I don’t recall Leigh Hyams. However, there were many people that Peter knew whom I did not since he was working at the Instituto Allende where many students and faculty communed. What is your relation to Ms. Hyams? I have not come across this negative in Peter’s huge inventory of photographs. Is Leigh still alive? Do you or Leigh have any other photos of Peters? Any help in keeping track of his art would be wonderful!

My mother was known as Martha Bolling back then. We have another photo of her taken by your father on the same day as this portrait, and then one he did of her and my father, Ralph Hyams, in NYC several years later.
I met your dad 17 years ago in San Miguel. He showed us an issue of Life magazine that had photos of my mom in relation to a story about the Instituto. If that ever shows up, I’d love digital scan.

P.S. Yes, Leigh is alive and back in San Miguel. Here’s her website: http://www.artsreal.com.
